In Depth: Haley at Skyler Foxe Mysteries
July 26, 2007 by admin
How old are you and what is your relationship status?–46, married, female, hetWhat kind of work do you do?–I'm a writer
What are your hobbies?–antique foraging, wine tasting, collecting old books, traveling
Do you have any special skills?–woodcarving, painting, sculpting, wood-working (though not so much these days)
What turns you on? What is your "type"?–intellectual, hairy, top who likes to bottom (my wonderful hubby)
Anything interesting about you that your readers wouldn't know?–In my day job I work with teens. In my off hours I write naughty Harry Potter fan fiction.
Blog:
Tell us about it's birth?–I write Skyler Foxe Mysteries to promote my as yet to be published mystery series about a young, gay, high school English teacher solving murders in the most redneck county of southern California. Blogging is a good way to meet lots of people from all walks of life from every place on the planet. That's very cool.
Who is its intended audience?–Gays, lesbians, hetero women, and anyone else interested in a good mystery story with gay themes.
How many visitors does it get? –Not enough. But I'm working on it with author interviews.
If you could sum up your blog in one sentence, what would it be?–It's a fun magazine of mystery articles, gay topics, interviews, my occasional rants, and, of course, an excerpt from the book.
If you had unlimited time, budget and staff, how would you change your blog?–Someone else would be writing and advertising it and I would be the evil editor. (heh, heh)
How much time a week do you spend on your blog? –Five hours or more, depending on what is coming up next.
How many blogs do you read weekly? What are your favorites?–I don't read too many. Friends' blogs, some news/industry media blogs, and some porn.
Future:
Give us some coming attractions on your blog: More author interviews. Perhaps some videos.
What do you see different in your life two years from now?–My first novel–a medieval mystery–is being published by a big New York publisher in the fall of 2008, so I will be on the road selling the heck out of that sucker so they will let me publish more! Maybe even my gay mystery. Keep fingers crossed.
