Out on the Town with Liza

Liza Minnelli decided to treat co-workers Johnny Rodgers, Jim Caruso, Cortes Alexander and Tiger Martina to an evening of cabaret! The five-some took time off from rehearsals to cheer musical cohort Billy Stritch and Klea Blackhurst, who dazzled the crowd with an evening of Hoagy Carmichael songs at the Metropolitan Room. For the past two years, Minnelli and the boys have been performing a musical valentine to her godmother, entertainer Kay Thompson. The celebrated author of “Eloise,” Thompson turned the nightclub world on it’s ear with a musical act co-starring The Williams Brothers in the late 1940′s and early 1950′s.
