A Real Gay Superhero

At some point, you’ve probably joked about Batman and Robin, or any other superhero who wears tights being gay, but when it comes to the world of real life superheroes, there is one who openly gay and is out to bring justice.

According to an interview on The Six Pack, our favorite gay talk show hosted by Ben Harvey and Dave Rubin, Mike Rogers fills us in on how Ken Mehlman, the former RNC Chair being gay, really goes back further than just yesterday’s news.

If there’s such a thing as a gay superhero, Mike Rogers just might be it.  (Our research department has yet to determine whether he wears the tights, however.)  Rogers’ blog (blog.blogactive.com) and investigative work were the inspiration behind the 2009 documentary Outrage, which told the stories of several closeted politicians who were actively promoting anti-gay legislation. We asked Rogers to give us his thoughts on former RNC chairman Ken Mehlman’s coming out, as well as the current Senate campaign by Charlie Crist.
