Welcome to the most important holiday in the United Stated of America…the 4th of July. This is a day to celebrate whether you’re pleased with the current status of gay rights or not. Without the 4th, there may be no Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa in the U.S. There may be no Thanksgiving, no Easter, no Labor or Memorial day. This is the day, regardless of who you are…regardless of how you feel…regardless of your struggles, you need to stand proud and be thankful you are an American.

Perhaps we don’t have equality. Perhaps we don’t have a system that is just, but one thing we do have, is a voice, and the right to let that voice be heard. Without the 4th of July, even that may not exist.

Please celebrate this day, as again, it it the most important holiday in the country! HAPPY 4th of JULY!

Aspire

What do I aspire to be? A part of the declaration that starts with We.

We too are people of the United States, yet part of this country so many hates.

They carry banners that say we should die. No wonder so many live in a lie.

As long as I remember, I have been gay. Yet so many insist, we’re not born this way.

What do I aspire to be? An equal citizen in this country, land of the free.

No harm have I cause to the world or mankind. If you took time to know me, a good man you would find.

It is not my right, to judge or to hate. Yet you think yourself fit, to decide my fate.

If I were to die in my sleep tonight, by law my partner would have no right.

To decide matters as your spouse would, a right you take for granted, I wish I could.

So what do I aspire to be? A productive American for all to see.

So much love and passion I have in my soul. I won’t let your actions, take their toll.

I will struggle til I am where I need be. An equal citizen in this country, land of the free.

The Adult Gay Film star, and Idahoan, Tory Mason was back in Idaho for the 4th of July weekend. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all fun and games for the Cocky Boy as he just may have had a few too many drinks during his visit, as he was arrested for a DUI. Hopefully it was, at least potato vodka. People at pride events can be so stuck up and self-involved that you have to bring someone with you otherwise you’ll get wrapped up in the absurdity of ‘pride’ amongst a group of people who glare at each other, stare past one another for the best looking guy in the group, etc. So, what is pride? There is no other place to be this Friday than at Prive in Las Vegas. We have a lot of reasons to celebrate this 4th of July, not the least of which is that Independence Day is the end of our three month push towards getting healthier and focusing on our fitness.
