According to a post on MinnPost.com:

It’s good to know that there is at least one good alternative to Target and Best Buy for those who’d choose to spend their money elsewhere for a variety of reasons. For me, the switch to Amazon was due to convenience (I immediately buy stuff when I need it from my computer or phone, which saves time), price (Amazon is very competitive AND I only buy what I need rather than fill my cart with impulse buys), and customer service (I’d rather sample reviews sorted by quality on Amazon than talk to a random member of the Blue Shirt Nation).

Having a voice in support of the gay community is vital to the success and equality of the gay community. That’s why 365 days of the year, BestGayBlogs.com brings you no less than three new gay blogs each and everyday. We’re a virtual clearing house for the best of the net when it comes to gay content on the web. Every year during the month of November, we ask you, our valued readers to let us know which blogs you think are the best of the best. Please take a moment to click on the ‘contact us’ link at the top of the home page and fill out the simple form placing the name of your favorite(s) in the ‘comments’ area to nominate which blog(s) you think are worthy of being awarded the prestigious BestGayBlogs.com 2009 Blog of the Year Award!

Nominations will be accepted between Nov 1 – 30 and voting will begin in December. You may nominate as many different blogs as you like, but nominating a blog more than once will not play a factor, as again, voting will commence in December. The winners will be featured for an entire week in January of 2010 and will receive an award. So again, let us know which gay blog(s) you think are the best so if they win, they will get the recognition they deserve!

Thanks again for supporting BestGayBlogs.com and let us know what you think are the BestGayBlogs!

Our Friend Lika Starr wrote a great article in response to the email we sent out to blogmasters yesterday. If any blog owners missed our email or if any of our surfers are curious as to what is going on, here is a what likastarr.com had to say about our new efforts:

“VibeMedia, Inc., owner of JustUsBoys.com, announced on Tuesday (May 28, 2008) the purchase of the high-traffic blog directory known as Best Gay Blogs.

Since it’s inception in 2004, Best Gay Blogs as been a premier search target for gay blogs. It’s coveted directory listing has included the who’s who of the gay blogging community. The directory has gone through some design makeovers in the past with the most recent being in 2007. All in an effort to make it more user friendly and easier to maintain from an administrative perspective.

In spite of the site’s popularity and prior redesign, the site’s structure was not intuitive for it’s purpose and lacked much interaction amongst it’s thousands of daily viewers. Vibe Media intends to change that. They’ve already ripped out the core site which was powered by Joomla and replaced it with the much friendlier WordPress platform. WorPress is not just for blogging as the new Best Gay Blog’s makeover shows us. The blogging platform also makes for a wonderful CMS (content management system). The new look is clean and well organized using what appears to be a customized version of the “Revolution” WordPress theme used by many popular news and magazine styled sites.

Visitors to the site are sure to enjoy the new look, feel and interaction of Best Gay Blogs. And, VibeMedia, Inc. promises an active presence for its readers with more featured blog spots. A marketing strategy that is a win/win for both the directory site and the listed bloggers.

Great news doesn’t always come without some problems. There is one caveat facing VibeMedia, Inc.’s new acquisition. In order to drop the old Joomla engine that previously powered the site, the old directory had to be wiped out as well due to the linking structure. As a result, all blogger that previously listed their sites on Best Gay Blogs are being asked to resubmit their entries.

But there is a sliver lining to this dark cloud, resubmitting a blog is simple. Just go to BGB and click on the blog directory, find the appropriate category, then locate the webmasters link near the bottom of the page and resubmit.

Blog owners that previously had their sites listed were sent an email with the news of the acquisition as well simple instructions on how to resubmit.”

Thanks for the review. Please everyone go visit likastarr.com for the latest “Gay Culture – Current News & Events – Entertainment – Politics”.
