“Look, I might have lived in England for the last several years, but I’m still an American citizen and I have not given up my right to privacy. People have different reasons for the way they live their lives. You cannot put everyone’s reasons in the same box. It’s just a line I’ve never crossed and never will. But why is it in this country that kids might think it’s OK to bully and make fun of somebody? I’ll tell you why, because what do they see in the media happening all the time? In the media they seem to think that’s OK, so if we stop using sexuality as a weapon against people, maybe everyone will eventually get cool with it. I don’t live a lie. You have to understand that people who choose not to discuss their personal lives are not living a lie. That is a presumption that people jump to. Look, at the end of the day, people have to respect people’s differences. I am different than some people would like me to be. I just don’t buy into that the personal can be political. I just think that’s horses–t. No one’s personal life is in the public interest. It’s gossip, bottom line. End of story. Now some people feed that. They’ll go to the trendy restaurants where all the photographers are and then bitch about being famous. But if you don’t want to feed that and you want your life to be based around what your work is then it ends there.”

Yesterday, the star’s lawyers demanded the site withdraw the “false and outrageous lies” which have spread worldwide across the Internet.

Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon and the show’s first astronaut, will be among 11 celebrity hoofers. “I’m not a dancer, but I’ve decided to give it a whirl,” says Aldrin, at 80, the second-oldest celebrity (after actress Cloris Leachman, 82 at the time) to compete on Stars.

Aldrin isn’t the only buzz surrounding the show’s 10th edition, which hopes to re-energize viewer interest with a smaller but higher-profile celebrity cast, down 30% from last season’s 16.

Aldrin’s rivals include Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin — tabloid-headline fodder since her marriage crumbled last fall — Olympian Evan Lysacek, NFL showboat Chad Ochocinco and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, who was surreptitiously filmed nude by a stalker last year.

“We wanted a cast that had impact — we needed every single name to pop,” says Deena Katz, Stars’ chief celebrity wrangler. ABC revealed the cast on Monday’s season finale of The Bachelor— including bachelor Jake Pavelka.

Stars averaged 18.2 million viewers last season, a 13% drop from Season 8′s 20.2 million, hurt by a lackluster cast and Fox rival So You Think You Can Dance. “We learned some lessons,” says executive producer Conrad Green. “This is definitely up there with the strongest casts ever.”

The show landed Pam Anderson, the Playboy pinup/actress it had been seeking since Season 1. “She’s one of the most iconic women, but she’s rather shy. The big issue was, ‘Do I want to put myself out there?’ ” Green says.

Prosecutors say Michael Wayne Carr of Linden had agreements to buy steers in Mexico for his customers and sell them for profit in the United States. Carr allegedly took $869,000 from Sutherland, star of the Fox TV show ’24,’ and $177,000 from a New Mexico couple.

Prosecutors say there’s no record Carr ever bought the steers. They also say Carr sold steers that didn’t belong to him.

Gately gained fame as a member of the Boyzone band and was on vacation on the Spanish island of Majorca when he died at the age of 33. The cause of death is acute pulmonary oedema, a build-up of fluid on the lungs caused by atheromatosis which is a thickening of the arteries. This is considered quite rare in a person under the age of 50.

The report made it clear he had not been killed by alcohol or drugs. When his civil partner Andrew Cowles discovered Gately, he may have been dead for up to eight hours.

Livingston married a woman named Rosemarie DeWitt earlier this year, but a dedicated Wikipedia editor changes the entry frequently with claims that Livingston is being totally gay with someone named “Lee Dennison.” A claim filed this weekend in L.A. County Superior Court indicates that the “false and malicious” allegations appear almost immediately on Livingston’s Wiki when his reps correct the information. (Could the editor be… a scorned Lee Dennison?)
