More tales from our very own English eccentric, Jason Shaw. You know him, he’s the one that writes all those stories, the one that was a DJ, the one that was told he was camp by one Mr Crisp! Growing older day by day, English style! Read more
Music has always been my comfort in troubled times, it’s been a companion in the happy times too. I love music, in fact you could possibly say that music was my fast love, I’m pretty sure it will also be my last. Read more
It’s strange how life pans out sometimes, I was sitting at work the other morning pondering my very place in the universe. Read more

You can’t cover a Britney song, without attracting a fair amount of attention, both good and bad, which is exactly what happened to the strikingly handsome singer and songwriter Christopher Dallman. Read more
One of the things I so enjoyed during my all too short time living in Illinois was sitting down at 3pm to watch Ellen on the box. It’s pure entertainment, say Jason Shaw, English by birth but with a slice of America in his heart. Read more

Jay Brannan get’s inside Jason Shaw’s head! Music is the food of love. That’s what ‘they’ say. That may well be true, but I rather like to think of music as the soundtrack of life. Read more
I was asked the other day if I was over Matt, I suppose such questions are to be expected after my mini review of my year seemed to be mostly about him, that American boy! You can read that here in my blog The Seafront Diaries. And you know what, I think I am, at least I’m pretty sure I am. Maybe I’m not, of course there are the odd thoughts I have about it, those little niggles when I wonder what might have been, if things had been different, if that email hadn’t arrived – cuz of course you know, he dumped me by email! Anyway, that email, it did arrive, splat in the middle of my inbox!
So face it I must, I have in the most part, sure there are times when all I want to do is wallow in the deepest pit of self pity, but then again, on the positive side, there are times when I think of him little. Times when I look to the future and open my mind to thoughts of the next lover, the next guy to be something more than just a face in the crowd, the next passing stranger, that pauses in my timeline for more than a fraction of the time I have left. So, the question again, am I over Matt? The only answer I can honestly give is, more of the time, yeah, yeah I am.
Besides, it’s not like I don’t have other options, there are other irons in the fire, other possibilities, other fish to fry, different avenues to explore, interest from places where one would never have thought to have looked! So, only time will tell, who knows what our future holds, well perhaps apart from Russell Grant that is! You should check his stars for your future, you never know, it could be a good start of a perfect ending!
It’s kinda made me think about me, what I have to offer, I’m 40 for crying out loud, I’m not the latest boy on the block, no spring chicken, nope, I’m more like an old motor, stuck on the sidelines in the machine shop. You know that one over there, half covered by a dust sheet, needs a bit of work, which you’ll do when the weather gets better! Hey, that’s a point, suppose just for a moment, that I am a car? What kinda car would I be? a A red chevvy Cobolt? A Green Camaro? I’m not sure, perhaps some beat up old number at the back of the used car lot.
FOR SALE – A true classic is up for grabs here, dates back to the early 70’s and yes it got some miles on the clock, but hey, still a long number of miles left to go before it’s scrapped! There is a little ware and tear here and there, but really, that can only be expected for something of this age. You’ll be surprised at the facilities and added valued this item has, including double glazing, titanium strengthening poles, and it’s own internal filtration system. A few good surprises under the hood and a rather comfortable and spacious trunk! OK, the mechanics are perhaps not what they should be, the engine no longer goes at full speed, but equally it can still exhibit a good burst of speed if the need arises. In other words, it’s it’s a good little runner, only eight previous owners , although there has been number of one day test drives, weekend and longer rentals have taken place. Still a lot to offer the right owner tho. The exterior needs a little restoration and recovery work, but nothing a little TLC wont fix! So, come on, dig deep, make me an offer for this classic!
Jason Shaw’s blog The Seafront Diaries is the witty ramblings of a kooky English gay guy getting on with life with a smile and a joke and maybe a song or two. Facing the age of middle with frighting honesty!
