What better way to bring in the holiday season than by hitting the clubs of South Beach, especially the gay clubs as the holiday season heats up with the gorgeous men of South Florida.

But it looks as though Katy Perry also wanted to feast her eyes on the Christmas buffet as she was recently spotted at Twist, a popular South Florida gay bar on South Beach.

According to a post on Gossip Center:

Treating herself to a little sunshine state entertainment, Katy Perry was spotted leaving Twist in South Beach, Miami in the wee hours of Sunday morning (December 12).

Having rocked out at the Y100 Jingle Ball in Sunrise (Florida), the “Fireworks” singer attempted to avoid the paparazzi as she later hit up the popular gay bar which features handsome Chippendale-style male strippers.

In 2009, the Atlanta Police Department raided a gay bar in the city that many might think of as gay friendly given the large gay population that inhabits the city. But, as usual, it wasn’t a pretty sight.But according to a post on PinkPaper.com, it looks as though the APD will pay (literally) for their misguided actions!

The Atlanta City Council voted 14-0 to pay the sum (of $1 million) to the Eagle Bar after nineteen men claimed they were illegally searched and detained in September, last year.

The local authority made the decision yesterday. However, the settlement must now go back to a federal judge for final approval.

It was a typical Saturday night in the summer of the 70’s. Myself and the guys would head down Rt. 7 to Westport and get there just as it was getting dark so when we pulled into the back parking area of The Brook. We’d park in the back so our cars wouldn’t be seen even though we lived 20 or so minutes north of Westport.

These were the times we lived in, in the closet and the shadows. And that’s how paranoid we were, like someone from the greater Danbury area would actually be down in Westport for our cars to be seen.We always drove separately as one never knew when one or all of us might hook up with someone, either for a quickie in the car, go to Sherwood Isle State Park or to an apartment for a night of “fun”.

APD Sued Over Raid

A national gay legal group is joining with an Atlanta attorney to file a discrimination lawsuit against the City of Atlanta and a handful of police officers for the controversial raid at the Eagle in September.

Lambda Legal will appear with Atlanta attorney Daniel Grossman during a press conference Tuesday morning in Midtown to discuss the lawsuit, which alleges officers from the Atlanta Police Department violated the Fourth Amendment rights of patrons and employees by illegally searching and detaining them when they stormed the bar Sept. 10 and arrested eight dancers and employees.

The lawsuit also alleges officers violated the First Amendment rights of people inside the bar by not allowing them question what was happening.

“The complaint is primarily alleging violations of the Fourth Amendment and also alleges violations of the First Amendment because you have a right to question and criticize police officers,” Grossman said early Tuesday. “When anyone at the Eagle questioned the officers, they were greeted with, ‘Shut the fuck up.’

John Mayer Likes Gay Bars!

We love a man who’s comfortable with his sexuality. And John Mayer certainly is. There’s much speculation over whether or not he may in fact be gay himself. But shouldn’t a straight man be allowed to go out and have fun at a gay bar without his sexual orientation being completely questioned?

John Mayer wants to hang out at gay bars and he doesn’t really care what you say about it. And we don’t really blame him. But after John Mayer was spotted at a gay bar last week, a rumor started about a man kissing John and John not doing anything to stop it. John Mayer wants to clear that rumor up, and he does by saying:

“Rumor check: Went to a gay bar in Palm Springs, yes. Had a blast. Danced my face off. Someone there planted a kiss on me? No. I don’t like the story painting gays as unable to control themselves. Found the crowd even more respectful than in a straight club. You know who the flamboyant crowd is? Straight, drunk girls. They’re like a bunch of little Charles Nelson Reilly’s”

Gay bar patrons in Chicago — and across the country — have decided they don’t want the fact that they can’t marry rubbed in their faces on a Friday night.

In her column in the Chicago Tribune, writer Dawn Turner Trice says that she’s been to a handful of bachelorette parties in Chicago that take place in gay bars so that creepy straight men won’t try to flirt with the bride and her posse. By the end of the night and a few drinks, however, the demure bridesmaids turn into “pelvis-trusting vamps.”

If there’s any remaining doubt about Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson being totally out of the closet, how’s this for confirmation: A make-out session at New York’s most notorious gay bar. Granted, “The Cock” tend to attract largely gays of the male persuasion, and DJ Ronson appears to have been there at least partly to satisfy her interest in the turntables and music (see picture, via Twerking). Also, it’s in the East Village, which the couple have been haunting lately.
