But it’s not Black people they’re seeking to oppress (unless you happen to be Black and gay).

According to a post on NECN:

The Republican majority on the House Judiciary Committee backed a plan that bars Missoula and other cities from establishing their own criteria for those protected from discrimination, sending the proposal to the full House floor with a decisive 13-7 vote.

The panel on Monday also voted against a plan backed by Democrats to add protections for “gender identity or expression and sexual orientation” to the statewide anti-discrimination law that forbids discrimination based on race, religion and several other factors.

The message is clear. If you’re not white and straight, then Montana doesn’t want you! Isn’t it grand to know that discrimination is still something that can be legislated!

One may think with all the celebration over the Republican gains during the past election those who are affiliated with the party may be hard at work trying to do something good like create jobs.

But, it looks like they’re too busy keeping a watch on the evil gays to worry about the economy.

According to a post on AVN:

Republicans wasted no time tackling the hard legislative issues that lie before Congress in the coming years.

Widespread unemployment? No, they let the new unemployment benefits bill die, leaving millions of Americans with zero income going into the new year. The START treaty to reduce our and Russia’s nuclear arsenal? No, they want to put that off until sometime next year… if ever. Getting rid of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” as a recent Pentagon study recommended and Defense Secretary Robert Gates supported? Nah; all 42 members of the GOP Senate caucus have vowed to block any legislation that doesn’t have to do with protecting millionaires’ tax rates or deficit cuts. Prosecute America’s war criminals? Surely, you’re joking!

Nope; the thing they’re exercised about is a short art video that’s part of a new exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution, “Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture.”

Let’s face it folks, this election was nothing more and nothing less than a clusterf*ck! I mean seriously, we had the angry white mob (a.k.a. tea partiers) who are pissed a Black man is in the Oval Office, then we have the GOPer’s who are ready to stop anything “Obama” in its tracks.

Let’s not forget about the largely apathetic and bitter LGBT community who either didn’t vote or voted GOP because they’re delusional over the time it takes for change.

But, in all this mess, a few things did come out of the wash clean. One being the first ever transgender being elected as a judge.

According to a post on the NY Times:

Voters in the San Francisco Bay Area elected the first transgender trial judge in the country on Tuesday. Victoria Kolakowski, a lawyer who underwent gender reassignment surgery more than two decades ago, won the race for Superior Court judge in Alameda County with more than 50 percent of the vote.
