Aside from being one of the hottest men on the planet, 29-year-old Quentin Elias is also an actor, singer and model. Muzo’s Review: ‘I Look to You’

From a guy who had Whitney Houston posters on his bedroom walls in junior high (shhh, don’t tell), here’s what I gots to say about her new album.

I keep seeing reports of people who have been to Whitney listening parties saying ‘The album is good, but I miss those big diva vocals circa the ‘Bodyguard’ era,’ I’m gonna vom. Unlike Mariah, Whitney was never known for those soaring upper-register vocals from her earliest days…she could (and still can) do it, but the Whitney I grew up with was sangin’ ‘How Will I Know,’ ‘So Emotional,’ ‘Didn’t We Almost Have It All’ and ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody.’

With that said, new album ‘I Look to You,’ due out Aug. 31 (just in time for Grammy consideration), harkens back to the (did I just use the word ‘harkens?’) day of, in my opinion, ‘My Love Is Your Love.’

A heartier, huskier, gutsy – real- Whitney is present on ‘Look to You.’ Not quite as gutsy as on the aforementioned ‘Love,’ but a more seasoned diva…just as classy – and catchy – as ever. And y’all, give the girl a break…people get older, they can’t sang those super high notes anymore. You think Mariah can still sing ‘Fantasy’ in its original key? Puh-lease. But gotta be honest with you, I love this heartier Whitney just as much as I loved the young, promising diva back in the ’80s.

In short: Whitney has turned out a very solid pop and R&B album, her true fans will be happy – and she’s gonna make some new ones fo sho. Lets get to it…at: MUZOPHILE.com!
