first LGTBI International Tourism Meeting in Torremolinos

We have already reported on the efforts of Torremolinos to establish itself as a gay tourist destination. Now they announce the organization of the first LGTBI International Tourism Meeting from November 30 to December 3 in The Palace of Congresses of the town with more history as a destination for gay tourism in Spain; for 50 years, Torremolinos has been the main destination of gay tourism in Spain. The Junta de Andalucía supports Torremolinos in its efforts and that is why it has joined this project.

The initiative is presented in the form of an inverse workshop. In this case, the tour operators are invited; they move and meet with local businessmen, by appointment. Normally a workshop of this type is accompanied by a familiarization trip

The meeting has several objectives: to get international operators to enhance the offer of this tourist destination, to promote online commerce and the creation of products for gays. Gay travelers tend to spend an average of € 113 per day, 30% more than the € 68 spent by medium-general tourism and are a very desired segment. In addition, Spain has detected a 28% increase in this type of tourism, which moves 150 billion euros in the world each year.

During the meeting the visit to multiple locations with tourist attraction is scheduled: the Botanical Garden “Molino del Inca”, the Pinar de los Manantiales, the Sports Complex of Torremolinos, the urban center: Plaza de la Unión Europea, calle San Miguel until the Torre de Pimentel, the Church of San Miguel, the maritime walk of Bajondillo, Playamar and los Álamos.
